At the mo J and I are planning out what to do this summer.
We're gonna hit Europe and see everything, its is massive (yes really!!!) and there are so many places we want to go and see. The more I read the more I want to see! :)
We have the massive large scale wall map so that we can see what is where and now we're trying to figure out the routes and what is most important and what can wait.
So our vague plan at the moment runs something like this:
Ferry to france, head down through the south of France, and through the French Riveria and Monaco into Italy.
Italian Lakes then Venice then down to Napoli and Pompei. Then catch the ferry accross to Greece. Look around the Islands and Athens.
here the plan diverges
A - coastal Adriatic - up through Macedonia, maybe Albania, Maybe Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and into Croatia. Possibly a bit dangerous, but stunning scenery and the war is done with now and the real attraction, way fewer tourists so a bit more untouched and authentic. Then Slovenia and up into Hungary
B - Inland Eastern - Maybe Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania (Transylvania) and into Hungary, then Croatia, Slovenia. Longer route but safer, still stunning scenery, get to see Dead sea, Dracula's house etc, and really still fairly un touristed compared with Western Europe.
Our Flatmates are from Hungary so we will visit them when we're passing through if they're back for the summer, then on into Slovakia, Austria, Czech Replublic.
Into Germany (which is really big) so probably save Berlin for another trip (like our Rome/Paris ones) and head down to Munich, the Black Forest, Rhine Valley and up to Netherlands - Amsterdam (to hopefully we will get to go there at Easter, leave pending), Belgium and back to France and accross the channel home.
Phew I know, its a massive trip and at this stage we really have no idea if its even possible in the time we have or the budget!!! but i am so excited that i thought i'd share.
There are a lot of possibilities and we'd love any feed back that anyone can give us, advice on what to see or where to or anything not to miss.
Bet you cant wait to hear all about it, we can't wait to go thats for sure!!!!
Love Gem and Jez

More Snow!!!
Yay so after J posted on Wednesday, it has snowed some more, and properley this time!!!
We woke up to about 3 inches yesterday morning which was very exciting especially cos we had the day off work so we could play in it.
Las, Greg and I went down to the park and built three massive snowmen which were bigger than us!!!
Today it is snowing again and there is still a few inches on the ground. all very exciting but will no doubt mean that work is very quiet tonight as we will have loads of snow cancellations.
This time the Midlands was one of the worse hit regions and schools and many businesses were closed. Including the dryclenaing shop that has our coats!!! I think a bit of mayhem on the roads too, luckly we dont drive and work is just around the corner for us to walk!!!

In other news, last night we went to our first bible study group here, it was great, a really nice bunch of people and really enjoyed attending a group like that again.
We have our giant map of Europe up on the wall and are planning out vague routes for the summer. Currently discussing the pros and cons of driving through Serbia, Kosovo and Albaina!!! stay tuned!!!

Snow?
So I guess there must have been a news thing on TV3 or something about all the snow over here in England? Because everyone seemed to be texting us about it! Rest assured that it really isn't bad. Heathrow was closed for a bit but we only had a day of snow. That was yesterday and it is all gone now (sadness).
And yes, it is COLD.
